Most homeowners with solar panels run into a real problem when their roof needs replacing - not every roofing crew knows how to handle the panels. Some companies will flat-out turn the job down. Others will do the roof and leave the solar piece to someone else, which means extra coordination, extra costs, and more time without your system running.

On this job, we handled everything. We pulled the full roof, installed new shingles, and safely detached and reset 43 solar panels - all under one crew, one process. No subcontractors for the solar portion. No gaps in accountability.

That part matters more than most people realize. Solar panel mounts penetrate the roof deck. If the flashing and sealing around those penetrations isn't done correctly after reinstallation, you're looking at potential leak points that can go unnoticed for a long time. We make sure every mount point is properly sealed and seated before we consider the job done.

The new shingles went down clean across both roof faces, and the panels were reset tight to the mounting rails - no gaps, no misalignment. The homeowner got a fully upgraded roof and a fully functioning solar system without having to manage two separate contractors or two separate timelines.

If your roof is aging and you've got solar on top of it, that's exactly the kind of job we're built for. It takes a crew that's comfortable working around the system, knows the proper detach and reset process, and understands how the two systems - roof and solar - have to work together long-term.
